Photo of the Week
Photo of the Week? Why?
Writing a blog post can be a daily struggle at times. I’m no stranger to that too. And some of you can identify with that too. Motivation. Inspiration. Expiration. And that’s only half the struggle. Even when you know what you want to write about. Even when you’ve planned how you’re going to structure it all out, coming out with the words is a mixture of hesitation, repetition and deviation. That doesn’t make for an ideal candidate for Just a Minute. And it certainly makes it a struggle writing posts on a regular basis.
So, to fill the void while waiting for my next blog posts, I’ve come up with a regular weekly content post imaginatively named Photo of the Week – maybe I’ll change this as it progresses. These are weekly posts to showcase a photo of a historical place that I have visited. While this fills the void of waiting, it’s also a good opportunity to practice my camera skills and learn new techniques. I’m only using a smartphone for now, but I’m hoping to invest in a dedicated DSLR, so in the future, the quality of my photos will gradually become better.
My first photo was taken yesterday while taking a walk with Ash at Blaise Castle Estate. The angle was taken from the side of Blaise Castle House looking on to the estate. The photo is not necessarily the best, but I quite like the outlook…

Enjoying a leisurely walk around Blaise Castle Estate
Although I’ve been to the estate many times, I’ve never been inside the house. But Blaise Castle House is also a museum, and I should make a point of visiting. The house is closed for the winter, so I shall be making plans to visit again. If you haven’t been here before, it’s well worth a visit.
